Third Sunday after Epiphany Announcements

January 24, 2021: Third Sunday after Epiphany

Immediately following our worship service, the annual meeting of our congregation will take place.  Each Session elder will give a brief presentation, the 2021 budget will be presented, and the membership will vote on Mark’s new terms of call and on the 2021 Nominating Committee. (The annual report is always posted on our web site.)

Pastor Mark will be out of the office and on vacation from Monday, January 25 through Friday, January 29.  If you should need anything, please contact one of the church elders or deacons.  (Note: this is Mark’s first vacation since 2019, but he will not be traveling or leaving town.)

Today is Deacons’ Sunday.  We are one of the few small churches that still has a Board of Deacons.  Our four Deacons maintain and update the Prayer Chain, visit the sick and those who are shut-ins, and bring food to help families in time of need.  They also determine how to spend the money from our Deacons’ Fund, which is used to help people with their rent, utility bills, medical insurance payments, prescriptions, as well as helping folks buy gas and groceries.  Any “loose plate” given to the offertory box today will go to this fund.  If you would like to write a check for this most worthy cause, please specify on the memo line.  Thank you for supporting this ministry!

Property Sales Countdown:  Effective Sunday, January 24, 2021, the sales contract on our church property has been in effect for 49 days.  The contract has a 90-day inspection period, so we are more than halfway through.  You haven’t stopped praying, have you ?!?!?

Jan. 17th Worship attendance = 42 (Zoom and in-person worship)

The January 19th deposit was $825.00 from offerings and tithes.  Thank you so much for your continued generosity and faithful support!
