Highlights from February 21 Session meeting:
- Approved Mark’s vacations in March and May
- Approved YMM Presbytery grant application
- Conducted annual review of the church rolls
- Continued discussion on mask/social distancing policy
- Decided to continue our current social distancing/mask policy (both are optional and recommended)
- Heard treasurer’s report that our January giving was the lowest in more than a year
- Deacons were given their annual “Shepherd Group” lists and will reach out to members
Today is Deacons’ Sunday. We are one of the few small churches that still has a Board of Deacons. Our four Deacons visit the sick and those who are shut-ins, keep tabs on their Shepherd Group, and bring food to help families in time of need. They also determine how to spend money from our Deacons’ Fund, which helps people with their rent, utility bills, medical insurance payments, as well as helping them buy gas and food. During our offertory today, all the “loose plate” or the cash not in specified envelopes will go toward the Deacons’ Fund. If you would like to write a check for this most worthy cause, please specify on the memo line. Thank you for supporting our Deacons!
