The Reverend Tom Coop will lead us in worship today.  Tom is a second career pastor who graduated from Seminary at the age of 46.  He began his ministry just down the way at First Presbyterian Church of Conroe as an associate pastor. After four years, he went west to San Jose, California, where he was the pastor at Santa Teresa Hills Presbyterian Church, and he served for 17 years until he retired in 2019.  He has a wife named DeLynn and four adult children and six grandchildren with two more due this summer.  He loves having the opportunity to preach and is thankful that you all have given him the opportunity this morning.
From the Pastor’s Desk:
Dear sisters & brothers in Christ:
In the words of my family, “It’s your turn, Dad.†Around May 3rd, I became the last person in my family to contract Covid-19. Fortunately, I only got a “mild case†because I had the 2 vaccines and the booster. [I shudder to imagine how bad it would have been without those…]
Since I’ve been out, I am strengthened by your messages and texts asking how I as doing and if I needed anything. I know that my pastor friends, Rev. Cindy Mood and Rev. Tom Coop, both handled worship – along with help from Carol Beverlin, JC and Nancy Kissinger, and everyone else too. That always warms my heart; I could be out and still know that God was worshiped at our house.
But it was nice to know friends are also standing by.
You constantly lift me up, and I ask the Lord to bless each and every single one of you. Thanks so much!
Yours in Christ, Mark  Â
