Scripture – Joshua 24: 1-3a, 1-25 (Joshua challenged the Israelites)
Theme: After the Israelites arrived in the Promised Land, they still had to settle it, subdue their enemies, and divide up the land. However, just as everything seemed to be settled, Joshua challenged the Israelites to follow God and reject other gods. He reminded them of all they had come through and how the Lord had been with them always.
It is the same with us; whenever we come through something highly disturbing or emotional – such as the recent presidential election, there is always a morning after in which the people must choose whom they will serve.
