Devotional: The 3 Friends of Job

Heritage Presbyterian Church

Scripture – Job 2: 1-13

Theme: When Job was stricken by Satan and his life was ruined, he sat among the ashes of his burned out home and scraped at his sores with a broken piece of pottery. As he sat in his terrible misery, three friends came to console him. At first, they were so horrified at his appearance that they sat with Job in silence for seven days. THEN they began asking him what sin he had done and insisting that Job confess and apologize to the Lord.

When our friends are miserable, that may not be the best time to “correct their behavior!”
