Scripture – 1st Samuel 9:1 – 10:8
Theme: When the people of Israel demanded a king “so they could be like other nations,” God told Samuel to give them a king. Then God led Samuel to Saul: a tall, handsome, warrior who looked the part. At first, Saul did well…but then he began to trust only his own instincts and not listen to Samuel or God. After that, his kingship fell to pieces…Saul ended up as a “million dollar talent with a ten-cent head.”
