Scripture readings: Exodus 33: 12-23
Theme: The Bible tells us that “to look upon the face of God is to die.” Yet, Moses asked anyway – but was only allowed to see God from the back as God passed by. Three of the Apostles were witnesses to the transfiguration of Jesus on the mountain, along with Moses and Elijah; did they see the face of God? And in Revelation, we are told that the saints WILL see the face of God and live. All this is puzzling as we ponder what it is to see God’s face – and what this might mean.
