Scripture – Genesis 32: 22-31
This is one of the oddest stories in the entire Bible. Jacob is alone in the wilderness, he has taken his family to safety from his brother, Esau, and Jacob finds himself alone…and a man wrestles with him until dawn.
What an odd thing to happen! It’s almost as if two completely different stories were suddenly put together: “Jacob was alone; and a man wrestled with him.” Why is this story in the Bible?
