November Announcements

The Big Question ANSWERED:

In-Person worship services resume this Sunday!

Our worship services return to the Ballroom beginning this Sunday, November 15th.  We will continue streaming all services via Zoom as we have been doing since October 11th.

Everyone joining us in person should follow all social distancing guidelines and continue to wear masks.  Also, there will be NO tables available in the ballroom as we previously used; instead, we will use the Lodge’s chairs and spread out in the ballroom.

We continue to respect everyone’s choices to either join us online or in-person.  We also praise the Lord for granting us five Sundays with good weather for our outdoor services!  Oh be joyful!

Our wonderful choir will resume weekly choir rehearsals beginning NEXT Wednesday, Nov. 18th at 7:00 PM in the Ballroom.  Welcome back!

Please continue checking out our video options during the week:
  • Sunday, 9:00 AM: Children’s Sermon via Facebook Live
  • Sunday, 10:30 AM Worship Service: Via Zoom and In-person from the Heritage Lodge’s Ballroom

Thank you so much for your support and prayers!

Christmas Jars return!

Back in July, we began our annual Christmas Jar mission project.  Each Christmas Jar that is kept by a church member is filled with gift cards, coins, and cash during the months between July and November.  On the first Sunday of Advent – November 29th – all Christmas Jars will be turned in so we can tally our total amount. (You also have the option of donating your Christmas Jar to someone in need that you know of.)  The total will be divided up between needy families from the Postma Elementary School community.  Last year, we donated 5 gift cards worth more than $400 – let’s see what this year’s total will be!  Make sure to bring your Christmas Jars to church on Sunday, November 29th.  Thank you so much for making a difference in the lives of our friends at Postma Elementary School, especially during this challenging, difficult and emotional year!

As we continue to remember the 40th anniversary of our church’s founding, each of you should have receive a mission mailing project titled “Forty Days in Christ.”  It shows several “paths” that you can choose to follow and celebrate our church’s founding.  These paths are:

  • Be Still With God
  • Giving Path*
  • Conversation With God
  • Practicing Forgiveness
  • Pursuing Peace
  • Worry-Free

Please contact Elders Ann Peterson or Jodie Smith with any questions.

If you didn’t receive a copy or you would like to receive the $40* described in “Giving Path,” contact Pastor Mark for information.

Worship attendance, November 8, 2020
(In-person & via Zoom):  40 people

Despite all that has happened, we are averaging about 40 people for our Sunday services throughout 2020. Thanks SO MUCH !

New Church Officers!

At our congregational meeting on October 25th, the membership of our church voted to accept following nominations:

Liz Silva – Deacon
Laura Hudson – Deacon
Gary Shapley – Resource & Administration Elder
Ann Peterson – Mission & Outreach Elder

Session will examine them on Tuesday, November 17th via Zoom. Then a date will be chosen for their ordination and installation. We thank these people for agreeing to serve us – and our church!
