Join Us

"There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all."  (Ephesians 4: 4-5)

We invite anyone who is seeking a church home to join us in their walk of faith.  The second Sunday of each month is the time when we add new members.  There are three ways to join any Presbyterian church:

  • By transfer of letter: This means that you are already a member of a Presbyterian church and you are requesting to transfer your official membership to us.  Pastor Mark and the Session will send a formal request to your former Presbyterian church.
  • By baptism: If you have never been baptized, this is the proper choice.  Pastor Mark does baptisms as a regular part of our worship service.
  • Reaffirmation of faith: This is for people who have been previously baptized and have been members of other Christian churches.  We accept ANY baptism that was done by a Christian minister and/or in a Christian church.  It does NOT have to be done by a Presbyterian – we are of “one baptism” as it is says in Ephesians 4:5.  Reaffirmation of faith means that you will affirm your faith with the words of the Apostles’ Creed that the congregation will say with you.  [By the way, this is how Pastor Mark became a Presbyterian when he was 24 years old!]

Prior to the worship service, a brief session meeting is called, and the pastor announces that you have expressed a desire to join our church.  The session will sustain that desire and welcome you into our church family.  Then during the second Sunday of each month, there will be an opportunity for you to come forward during our regular worship service and be formally received into church membership.  The congregation will hear your answers to just two simple questions:

  1. Do you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?
  2. Will you support the work and worship of our church to the best of your ability?

Please prayerfully consider joining our church!  Contact Pastor Mark if you have any questions at all.
