WHY GIVE?
"Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy."
(1st Chronicles 29:9)
Giving cheerfully is part of our worship. Your generosity allows us to help more people experience the life-changing impact of belief.
We are part of something big, an amazing adventure to step out in faith and offer the hope and healing of Christ. We believe in transformation of the whole person, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Whether it is in our own backyard or the other side of the planet.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Our church is always seeking partners to assist us with the work and worship of our church. Every church needs this type of assistance, but often churches differ widely on their approaches. We ask that you check us out, investigate our various missions and benevolences. And then give as your heart is guided.
Every small church always struggles with its yearly budget; with all the generous giving that occurs in our community, often our general expenses and budget suffer from a short-term lack of support!
Giving to the memorial fund at our church is a way to remember a loved one at the time of a person’s passing instead of sending flowers. In this manner, you can let everyone know that the person was loved, important, and will be missed. You may also want to remember the anniversary of a death or at other times to just remember someone close to you. You may choose to give a gift in honor of someone who is still living in the same manner. Examples of this might be for a birthday, anniversary, graduation, or simply to say “thank you”.
A card to let us know where you would like your gift to be used is available in the church lobby. You can indicate how you would like the gift used from these committee areas:
Building Fund, Christian Education, Deacons Fund, Fellowship & Hospitality, General Operations, Mission & Outreach, Scholarship, or Worship.
Each committee would then use your gift to further our church activities and outreach to the community.
The Memorial Fund Committee members are Jim Lower, Sally Luker, and Lori Yarbrough. The card and gift may be given to any member listed above. We will record it in the log and get it to the proper committee for you. You will receive a thank you note from the church as well as letting you know how the funds were used.
We are grateful for any amount you pledge. Your gift is a covenant with God and will bring us that much closer to our goal of better serving our neighbors and creating disciples of Christ in northwest Houston.
