June 25: Third Sunday after Pentecost/12th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Genesis 21: 8-21 (Hagar and Ishmael are sent away by Abraham)

Romans 6: 1b-11 (Dying and rising with Christ)

Mathew 10: 24-39 (Whom to fear/not peace but a sword!)

Sermon:  “Taking the Good With the Bad”

Theme: Sometimes, in order for God’s will to be achieved in our world, good things that occur are accompanied by bad things. It is easy to give up and to doubt when these things happen. It is common to blame others and to question why God is punishing you. What is difficult is to accept the good with the bad – and to praise the Lord anyway.
